Overview
A fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the major contracts team at a well‑established, award‑winning design, build and reactive maintenance company with offices in Doncaster, Nottingham and London working across the UK and internationally.
Responsibilities
- Take accurate and informative briefing notes from clients to allow for robust pricing.
- Produce accurate Bills of Quantities and Scope of Works.
- Subcontract and supplier procurement, including detailed analysis.
- Produce and update procurement tracker.
- Preparation and issue of contracts.
- Liaise and negotiate with external and internal customers.
- Monitor, capture and agree variations in line with contract requirements.
- Produce valuations in line with contract requirements.
- Monitor, measure and report key profit opportunities and concerns.
- Monitor and close waste gaps on projects.
- Produce and maintain accurate CVRs.
- Concept to completion project costing, including estimating through to final account and CVR reporting, effective subcontract and supplier management and project contract responsibilities.
- Invoicing reconciliation and approval.
- Work closely with intercompany departments throughout the project process.
- Production of accurate and timely final accounts.
- Complete full project tenders when applicable.
- Update Concorde Project Portal information.
- Keep folders up to date on the company Egnyte server.
- Hybrid remote role; expected to attend the Doncaster head office 2 days per week.
- Regular site visits.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying.
- Minimum of 3 years quantity surveying experience in a construction‑based role.
- Proficient in MS Excel and IT systems.
- Full driving licence.
- Confident capable team player with an approachable demeanour.
- Can‑do attitude with a positive outlook conducive to inter‑departmental synergy.
- Good attention to detail and effective time management.
- Strong decision‑making and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.
