Job summary

A leading engineering services firm in Chelmsford is seeking a Quality Technician for a 6-month contract. The role involves monitoring cleanroom compliance, supporting inspections of incoming components, and managing non-conformance activities. Candidates should have higher technical education and relevant manufacturing experience. This position requires strong analytical skills and knowledge of ISO 9001 standards. The role is predominantly onsite, working 4 days a week.

Qualifications

  • Quality related work experience in a manufacturing company is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify the source of problems.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom compliance protocols.

Overview

Quality Technician - Space Imaging (contract)

Initial 6 month contract. Chelmsford (4 days p/w onsite). £180pd / £24.32ph (Inside IR35).

Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and enforcing cleanroom compliance with established protocols
  • Support Inspection for Incoming components to ensure that quality standards are maintained.
  • Non-Conformance Management and Improvement Activity.
  • Leading investigations into both internal issues and customer complaints/returns.
  • Performing Internal Audits in order to ensure that business processes are effective.
  • Support Audit activity for annual ISO9001 audits.
  • Support customer meetings and audits.
  • Quality approval of Delivery Review Boards.
  • Attendance of the Change Control Boards.
  • Approval of Change requests.
  • Review, approval and closure management of Permits and concessions.
  • Creation and maintenance of REACH/RoHS and other compliance declarations.
Qualifications
  • Higher technical education, ie HNC or above.
  • Quality related work experience in a manufacturing company
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify the source of problems.
  • Lean Six Sigma.
