Job summary

A quality inspection firm based in Reading is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure incoming components match their mechanical drawings and meet required standards. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical inspection experience, proficiency with precision measuring tools, and the ability to manage inspection data using computer systems. This contract role operates from 7am to 3:30pm, offering a pay rate of £14.42 per hour. The desired skills include experience with CMM and shadow graph inspection.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming goods against mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Use precision measuring equipment such as verniers and callipers.
  • Verify tolerances and apply GD&T principles.
  • Record inspection data accurately using computer systems.
  • Support the wider quality team and elevate any non-conformances.

Skills

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
Proficient in using verniers and callipers
Strong understanding of GD&T and tolerances
Computer literate with the confidence to input and manage inspection data
Previous experience in a quality inspection or similar engineering environment
