Quality Inspector / CMM Programmer

Location: Portsmouth

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Hours: Mon - Fri 8am-4pm

A leading precision engineering business serving sectors such as aerospace, automotive, defence, and motorsport is seeking a skilled Quality Inspector / CMM Programmer to join its high‑performing team. The company prides itself on delivering exceptional quality through its ISO 9001:2015‑certified processes and advanced engineering capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and program CMM equipment to inspect precision components.
  • Conduct detailed dimensional inspection using manual measurement equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges, etc.).
  • Support the management and continual improvement of the company’s quality management system (QMS).
  • Produce accurate inspection reports and documentation in line with customer and internal standards.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation when required.
Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience in CMM operation and programming
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances.
  • Experience maintaining and supporting a QMS in a precision engineering environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
  • No direct people management experience required; this is a hands‑on technical position.
