What’s on offer for the Quality Inspector
  • Competitive hourly rate up to £18.14 per hour
Shift for the Quality Inspector – Rotating double days
  • Week one – 6am – 14:00pm
  • Week two – 14:00pm – 22:00pm

Due to continued growth I’m currently recruiting for a Quality Inspector (Dimensional inspecting) to work with a well-established engineering company based near Halesowen. As the Quality Inspector you will be responsible for ensuring that components are fully inspected and are conforming to customer drawings and specifications.

Duties of the Quality Inspector
  • Dimensional & visual inspection of all finished product, raw product when required & tooling using the required methods, techniques &legging equipment.
  • Reading & interpreting engineering drawings (tolerances, GD&T symbols) & applying to the inspection of the product.
  • Complete inspection records and reports and insert data accordingly and accurately. Identify and report non-conformances. Follow non-conformance procedure and document acceptance after re-work or other approved repairs.
  • Assisting the machine operators with inspection checks / set ups on the machines and provide clarification of requirements / instructions if requested.
  • Conduct inspection survey of shafts that have been returned for refurbishment / repair.
  • Carry out daily bookings against route card jobs and timing on ERP system.
  • Ensuring workplace area, inspection tables are clean, tidy, and organised.
  • Adhere to and encourage health and safety methods and procedures.
Qualifications
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience as a dimensional Quality Inspector (Essential)
  • Ability to calibrate & use handheld measuring equipment (Essential)
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings (Essential)
  • Ability to operate CMM’s (Essential)
  • Experience working within a foundry (Desirable)
  • Operating overhead cranes (Desirable)
