Job description
Precision Machine Shop Inspector

Responsible for inspecting, measuring, and verifying machined components to ensure they meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, quality standards, and industry requirements.

This role supports continuous quality improvement by identifying defects, documenting findings, and collaborating with machinists and engineers to resolve issues.

Responsibilities
  • Perform first article, in process, and final inspections on precision machined components.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Verify dimensions using precision measurement tools such as:
    • Micrometers
    • Verniers/calipers
    • Dial indicators
    • Height gauges
    • Bore gauges
    • Surface plates
    • CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) equipment (as applicable)
  • Document inspection results clearly using company documentation.
  • Identify and communicate non conforming product conditions and support root cause analysis.
  • Work with machinists and production staff to correct dimensional issues and provide feedback on quality trends.
  • Assist in maintaining calibration and cleanliness of inspection equipment.
