Job summary

A reputable engineering company in Stockport is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to inspect machine parts and support quality management systems. The ideal candidate will have a background in precision engineering and relevant certification. This role offers a salary between £40,000 and £45,000, with flexible hours and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Trained internal auditing certification or relevant experience required.
  • Desirable to have previous experience as a machinist or toolmaker.
  • Experience in precision engineering and knowledge of inspection equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect machine parts and assemblies to meet specifications.
  • Support the Quality Manager in QMS maintenance.
  • Calibrate and service inspection equipment.

Skills

We’re hiring for an experienced Quality Engineer to join an engineering company based in Stockport who boast an attractive reputation and extremely exciting future. What will you be doing as a Quality Engineer?
  • Inspecting machine parts and assemblies to meet drawings and customer specifications
  • Supporting the Quality Manager in maintaining the QMS
  • Servicing and calibrating inspection equipment (including laser trackers and CMMs)
  • Providing operator training to recognised standards
  • Working collaboratively with production, estimating, and sales teams
  • Advising on capital investments to implement the latest technologies
  • Actioning NCRs using 8D problem‑solving methods
What do you need?
  • A trained internal auditing certification or relevant experience
  • Previous time served as a machinist or toolmaker (desirable)
  • Leica or Faro experience (desirable)
  • Lean and six sigma experience (desirable)
  • Previous experience working within a precision engineering environment (desirable)
