Job summary

A quality-driven recruitment agency in the UK is seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to ensure that mechanical and hydraulic OEM systems meet engineering specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in quality inspection, strong attention to detail, and the ability to read engineering drawings. This role offers the chance to work on high-performance engineered systems in a dynamic production environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in quality inspection within mechanical or hydraulic OEM manufacturing.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics.
  • Experience using inspection tools such as verniers, micrometres, and gauges.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect mechanical and hydraulic components and assemblies to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Verify dimensional compliance and correct mechanical fit-up.

Quality Control Inspector - Mechanical & Hydraulic Systems

Location: On-site, Kirkbymoorside, Full time
Department: Quality / Manufacturing

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to support the build of mechanical and hydraulic OEM systems. This role will focus on ensuring assembled equipment meets engineering specifications, customer requirements, and company quality standards from goods-in inspection through to final test and certification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect mechanical and hydraulic components and assemblies to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Verify dimensional compliance and correct mechanical fit-up
  • Inspect hydraulic systems including cylinders, manifolds, pipework, valves, pumps and hose assemblies
  • Witness and verify hydrostatic and functional pressure testing
  • Complete inspection reports, route cards and non-conformance documentation
  • Maintain component traceability and certification records
  • Support supplier inspections and goods-in verification
Requirements
  • 5+ years' experience in quality inspection within mechanical or hydraulic OEM manufacturing
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics
  • Experience using inspection tools (verniers, micrometres, torque tools, gauges)
  • Good understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
