Quality Assurance Manager

I am partnering exclusively with a well‑established chilled food manufacturer to support them with the recruitment of an experienced Quality Assurance Manager who will play a key role in strengthening the site’s technical and quality agenda. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident QA professional who enjoys autonomy, influence, and the chance to make a meaningful impact.

  • Working Monday to Friday days (flex on start times)
About the Opportunity

My client is looking for someone who can champion food safety, legal compliance, and quality integrity across the site. You will support the Technical Manager while taking ownership of day‑to‑day quality assurance activities, ensuring that the factory remains audit‑ready and that products consistently meet customer and regulatory expectations.

This is a hands‑on role within a collaborative technical function, ideal for an individual who thrives in a chilled, short shelf‑life environment and brings a strong understanding of modern quality management practices.

Key responsibilities
  • Maintain and develop the HACCP plan
  • Ensure the QMS is maintained, understood, and effectively applied across the factory.
  • Deputise for the Technical Manager when required.
  • Lead preparations for BRC and customer audits, and support action planning and follow‑up.
  • Ensure all product specifications, artwork, and labels meet food safety, legal and customer standards.
  • Conduct internal audits and traceability exercises, ensuring all findings are addressed promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with operations and other functions to resolve non‑conformances and embed corrective actions.
  • Provide accurate, customer‑focused responses to complaints.
  • Support routine reporting and contribute to technical meetings.

  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with colleagues at all levels.
