Job Title: Children's Social Worker – Plymouth

Salary: £38 ph

Location: Plymouth, Devon

Contract: Locum, Temporary

About the Role:

Plymouth is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Social Worker to join their frontline Child Protection Team. This role involves managing complex cases, including those progressing through care proceedings, and requires a strong background in safeguarding and court work.

Experience in ParentAssess is highly desirable, as the team focuses on delivering high-quality parenting assessments as part of court-directed work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold a caseload of Child Protection, Child in Need, and Public Law Outline (PLO) cases
  • Complete robust Section 47 enquiries, child & family assessments, and court reports
  • Undertake care proceedings and represent the local authority in court
  • Where applicable, complete ParentAssess assessments and contribute to permanency planning
  • Work collaboratively with legal services, families, and multi-agency partners
