Qualified SEN Teacher - Specialist School in High Wycombe

Location: High Wycombe | Start Date: October 2025 | Salary: Competitive, based on experience | Contract Type: Full-Time, Part-Time, Term Time Only

About the Role

You will be responsible for delivering a holistic approach to learning focusing on behaviour support alongside academic goals. The main focus is to create a positive environment for the students with a goal to increase engagement and self-regulation to prepare them for adulthood. Aspire People are working with a forward-thinking and nurturing SEN school that caters for secondary-aged pupils with a diverse range of needs, including Autism, SEMH (Social Emotional, Mental Health) challenges, and strong behavioural needs.

Responsibilities
  • Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Creating and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Supporting pupils to develop literacy, numeracy, communication, and life skills
  • Creating a nurturing and structured classroom environment
  • Monitoring, assessing, and reporting on pupil progress
  • Leading and supporting a classroom team, including Teaching Assistants
  • Building strong relationships with families, carers, and wider professionals
About You / Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent – essential)
  • Experience working in a SEN, Primary, or Secondary setting
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies and child development
  • Ability to differentiate teaching for a wide range of abilities and needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a nurturing approach (essential)
  • A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills
  • Passion for working with children with complex social and emotional needs
