Overview

Qualified Dispensing Optician - Professional Services Co-ordinator - Monday to Friday, Edgbaston West Midlands

My Client, a leading large chain of Opticians, is actively looking for a Professional Services Co-ordinator to join their team at their Head Office based in Edgbaston. The role is to ensure their branches and teams are supported throughout the company for equipment needs, contracts and enhanced services whilst ensuring the compliance and regulatory side of the business is maintained. You will also identify relevant new standards and practices which will support the development of the company business and recommend how these may be implemented. The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Dispensing Optician with at least 3 years\' experience who is looking for a new challenge from working within a practice.

Responsibilities – NHS contracts

Develop a clear understanding of NHS contracts and is able to manage this for

  • New branches
  • Relocations
  • Branch closures
  • Renewals
  • Contract variation applications e.g. change of name or hours
  • Contract compliance visits for new practices, acquired practices, relocated practices and as requested by NHS England
  • Post Payment Verification evidence submission, reviewing and contesting payment recovery
  • Completion of the Quality in Optometry contract compliance self-assessment as and when requested by NHS England
  • Completion of annual NHS complaints return procedure
  • PCSE set up
Responsibilities – Enhanced services

Develop a clear understanding of enhanced services and implement this across the business including

  • Set up of new contracts and services
  • Ensuring branches are set up to provide this service
  • Ensuring clinical requirements, Optometrist qualifications and equipment is in place
  • Set up and manage E-referral platforms
  • Setting up the branches to use the appropriate systems to provide services and receive payments
  • Working to ensure the process works across the business and effectively communicate with all branch staff, trainers and management
  • Understand how external agencies work with the CCG and NHS and working with providers of enhanced services to implement this in our business
  • Be proactive in setting up new services in new locations
  • Promote the provision of enhances services in branches
  • Ensuring branches are working to the commissioned referral pathways and providing them with up to date information
Clinical and corporate governance

Rviewing, managing and ordering optical equipment, including keeping a track of all equipment in the branches.

Clinical and body corporate

  • Auditing of clinical records and ensuring high standards of clinical and professional standards are always maintained. Escalating any concerns.
  • Annual registration and retention process for all GOC registered clinicians and ensuring all professional staff complete the three-year CPD cycle
  • Updating and renewal of information of GOC corporate registration
  • eGOS queries.
Location and hours

The position is based at their Head Office in Edgbaston and is Monday to Friday working a 37.5 hour week, no weekends required.

They are offering a very competitive salary, 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.
