Job summary

A leading NHS trust in the UK is seeking a qualified Dental Nurse to join their Dental Team. The role is permanent and requires GDC registration and experience in Special Care or Community dental service. The successful applicant will support dental care including procedures under sedation at The Royal London Dental Hospital in London. This position offers a chance to work with a multidisciplinary team focused on high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

  • GDC registration is mandatory.

  • Previous experience in a Dental Hospital is desirable.

Job description
Overview

We are currently seeking applications from GDC registered qualified dental nurses to join our Dental Team at Barts Health NHS trust. This is a permanent contract, 4 days per week, based across the Special Care team and supporting the Restorative Department. The main work site will be The Royal London Dental Hospital in Whitechapel.

The Special Care Department is a busy multidisciplinary team which provides a range of dental treatment to our patients, including delivery of care using conscious sedation. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with a range of staff including consultants, specialist dentists and DCTs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide dental nursing support within the Special Care Department and Restorative Department as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate a compassionate and caring approach to patients and maintain high standards of Infection Prevention and Control.
  • Be well organised, well presented, flexible in approach to work, and able to work effectively as part of a team or using own initiative.
  • Contribute to delivering dental care, including services delivered under conscious sedation.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Candidates must hold a Dental Nursing qualification and a Sedation qualification.
  • Good level of experience working as a Qualified Dental Nurse and experience within Special Care or the Community dental service.
  • Registration with the General Dental Council (GDC) is mandatory.
  • Previous experience of working within a Dental Hospital and/or within the Special Care department is desirable.
