The Role

We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Officer to join our friendly team on a fixed-term basis at our Welshpool office. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain through efficient procurement and supplier coordination.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with supplier reporting, backorder tracking, and order prioritization
  • Support day-to-day procurement operations, including issuing purchase orders
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal departments to meet material needs
  • Communicate and liaise effectively with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and follow-up
  • Lead RFI/RFQ/RFP processes and negotiate contracts and pricing agreements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, R&D) to align sourcing strategies with company needs
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data entry, reporting, and order processing
  • Experience in procurement or supply chain support roles, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and data entry is highly desirable
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take direction to improve purchasing coverage and responsiveness
