Job description
Overview

Are you a Registered Nurse looking to gain experience in working with children and families in a community setting? Are you considering applying to undertake the SCPHN training to become a health visitor?

We are looking for enthusiastic staff nurses from different specialities, to join the Health Visiting service at the Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. You will be working with our teams in City and Hackney to deliver core and targeted services to children aged 0-5 and their families.

The post holder will be supported by qualified health visitors and mixed skill teams. There are also training opportunities available to support the new role.

Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme within a progressive universal model of service delivery dependent on assessed needs.
  • Ensure the programme is delivered in partnership with other statutory and non-statutory agencies.
  • Play a key part in the development and safe delivery of the 0-5 health visiting service, utilising best available evidence to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people, especially those from disadvantaged groups.
  • Delegate workload under the supervision of Senior Health Visitors and carry out specific nursing care for patients, families/carers.
  • Work in partnership with the Multi-Disciplinary Team and other agencies to ensure that excellent standards of care are provided.
  • Support their team, department and organisation to achieve the Trust’s Values in day-to-day work.
Who we're looking for / Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with UK NMC registration.
  • Current UK-based residence (applications from outside the UK will not be accepted).
  • Interest in working with children and families in a community setting; consideration of SCPHN training to become a health visitor.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and engage with statutory and non-statutory partners.
