Are you looking to make a real difference in the lives of young children?

A friendly school in Slough are looking to add a Mental Health Assistant to their staff starting in September!

The Role:

The successful Mental Health Assistant will be assisting and supporting students who have struggles with their behaviour. These students have trauma, anxiety and depression and thus have a difficult time coping. They struggle especially with regulating and processing their emotions and managing their behaviour.

Day to Day:

The successful Mental Health Support assistant will spend their day to day helping the students in their daily tasks. You will be supported by the class teacher but will also be assisting them with general class duties. This will include helping set up for lessons, clearing up afterwards and helping manage classroom behaviour. This will be done in either a 1:1 basis or in a small group setting. You will be making such a difference in these children’s lives.

The Candidate:

The successful Health Support assistant will be proactive and patient. You will also be adaptable and do well in fast paced environments. You must be determined, confident and passionate about education and helping those vulnerable children.

Previous experience working with children that present with challenging behaviour would be ideal. However, attitude and personality is equally important as you would be a role model for these children.
