Job Overview

Are you a Psychology Graduate? Are you dreaming of a career as a Psychologist or Therapist, but need some experience behind you? Are you interested in neurodiversity and special needs? A Special Needs School in Banbury are looking for an enthusiastic Psychology Graduate to join their team as a Learning Support Assistant. This role offers a unique change to support children with diverse needs, including autism, speech and language needs, sensory processing disorders, physical disabilities and communication difficulties – fantastic experience for a Psychology Graduate to kick‑start their career.

Responsibilities

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will learn about the cognitive, behavioural and emotional needs of each student and how to best support them. You will help identify triggers and barriers to learning, as well as implementing your knowledge of psychological theory and applying it in the classroom. Above all else, you will help ensure every student feels safe and supported in school, and help make the classroom a fun and engaging space.

Qualifications

Psychology Graduate. Friendly and nurturing individual, with a positive attitude and a solid understanding of SEN. Any previous experience working with children is a bonus – this could be professional or personal experience.
