Overview

Our clinicians are fulfilled by the idea of affecting even the smallest positive changes in our young people. This role is based at Avon Park School, 3-days-per-week. The school has recently achieved an Outstanding Ofsted rating and operates with a strong ethos of high expectations and aspirations for every child. All staff work in a truly collaborative way to ensure each pupil develops academically, emotionally and personally. Our clinicians are a crucial part of the most joined-up model in SEND, across all specialist schools and children's homes, providing broad clinical support to young people with a complexity of need including developmental trauma, neuro-developmental conditions and special educational needs. As part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team you will support educational and residential colleagues to provide therapeutic living and learning environments and, based on clinical assessment and formulation, offer individualised interventions and engagement to our young people. Our Psychologists work collaboratively within our schools and children\'s homes to ensure therapeutic support permeates every aspect of the education, care and support we offer all of our children and young people. You will provide consultation, workshops, training and guidance to the educational and residential teams around our children.

Responsibilities
  • Be a qualified Clinical, Educational, Forensic or Counselling Psychologist registered with the HCPC
  • Be a specialist with proven skills and experience to assess, formulate and support the delivery of therapeutic interventions with children and young people with complex needs
  • Have experience of supporting the team around a child or young person to provide clinically informed living and learning environments and experiences
  • Be a confident, engaging and effective model, guide, leader and trainer
  • Be highly organised and ready to take the initiative
  • Be committed to ensuring the best outcomes for young people
