About VML Health

VML Health is a leading global healthcare agency that partners with clients to build connected experiences across the healthcare ecosystem. A deep understanding of individual needs and behaviour, and how they are connected, allows us to create seamless experiences. And when these experiences are personalized, unique and relevant at every touchpoint, their power is all the more profound.

We power connections beyond science into human behaviour. We believe that science can change the world and that changing the world starts with a single person behaving differently. Overcoming beliefs and barriers to make life better for patients and healthcare communities is second nature to us.

Key Criteria
  • Candidates should ideally be working in the same (or similar) field of healthcare communications. Experience of Proofreading / Fact-checking and Veeva platform management in a scientific/medical field is expected.
  • The focus of the role is to ensure data & language accuracy across a wide range of assets, both in initial manuscript form and final layout. Assets are usually developed in PDF or PPT format, along with videos, animations and websites.
  • Candidates should be skilled in checking referenceable data against annotated ref packs and also be able to edit materials from a language / grammar and style perspective. They should be conversant with Veeva / PromoMats and able to support on reference anchoring when required.
  • The ideal candidate will be a team player who is also able to work autonomously and manage their own workload, switching priorities when necessary. They will usually be working across a variety of projects at the same time with varying client deadlines.
  • Maintaining an excellent attention to detail at all times is a prerequisite for the role.
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat Professional and PowerPoint – particularly the review and comment functions for these software packages. Working knowledge of InDesign would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Knowledge of the main medical/technical referencing styles – house style is Vancouver abbreviated, but can change according to project and client needs
Background information

The successful candidate will be joining a diverse international team of account handlers, medical writers and creatives, supporting major pharmaceutical clients in the production of both promotional and medical education communications materials, e.g.

  • Visuals aids for client sales teams to use in HCP meetings
  • Brochures and leaflets aimed at both HCPs and patients
  • Meeting and congress material – posters, panels, stage dressing, programme books, speaker biographies, evaluation forms etc.
  • Educational/Promotional animations and videos – there is a significant digital component to the materials we produce

The successful candidate would be working alongside a team of proofreaders / fact-checkers located throughout Europe and would report into the Scientific and Editorial Team Manager, based in Italy. There would be daily contact with a very large (and friendly) team of medical writers, client account handlers and creatives.
