Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Planner to support the delivery of renewable energy projects across development, pre-construction, construction, and commissioning phases.

This is a pivotal role responsible for developing and managing robust, realistic, and risk-informed project schedules, ensuring alignment with cost, procurement, and construction strategies. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting informed decision‑making, progress monitoring, and the on-time delivery of projects across a growing portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and manage integrated project schedules across the full project lifecycle, from development through to handover
  • Establish baseline programmes, key milestones, critical paths, and interfaces aligned with execution strategies
  • Ensure schedules accurately reflect scope, construction methodologies, procurement lead times, grid and permitting constraints, and contractual requirements
  • Review, assess, and challenge EPC and contractor baseline programmes and progress updates
  • Monitor progress against approved schedules, identifying delays, risks, and required mitigation or recovery actions
  • Support the management of programme changes, variations, and extensions of time in collaboration with project and commercial teams
  • Perform schedule risk analysis, including critical path analysis and scenario modelling
  • Identify programme risks and mitigation strategies and support the maintenance of project risk registers
  • Prepare and issue regular schedule updates, look‑ahead programmes, progress reports, dashboards, and lender‑facing reporting
  • Support investment and development decision‑making through schedule risk assessments and realistic project timelines
  • Maintain schedule logic, activity coding, and resource loading where required
  • Ensure planning processes align with internal project controls standards and industry best practice
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of planning tools, templates, and lessons learned across the portfolio
Skills & Experience
Experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in project planning or project controls within power generation, infrastructure, or renewable energy projects
  • Experience working with or for an IPP, EPC contractor, or major infrastructure developer
  • Proven ability to develop and manage complex, multi‑disciplinary project schedules
  • Strong understanding of project development, EPC contracting, and construction sequencing
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in project planning software (MS Project or equivalent)
  • Strong reporting and data visualisation skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI or similar)
  • Solid understanding of construction methodologies for utility‑scale Solar PV and BESS projects (preferred)
  • Experience integrating engineering, procurement, and construction schedules
  • Strong forecasting and progress reporting capability
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline (preferred).
Preferred Certifications
  • Professional certification in project planning or controls (APM, PMI, or equivalent)
  • MS Project certification (preferred)
