Job Description

This is a brand-new role within our organisation, forming part of a newly established PMO team dedicated to managing and maintaining compliance across all water projects. The Project Manager will play a key role in ensuring a consistent, standardised approach to operational delivery across the water business. Working closely with the Head of PMO and other stakeholders, you will monitor project performance, enforce compliance with processes, and ensure that all works are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with client requirements.

Reporting Line: Head of PMO within United Infrastructure, Utilities pillar.

Sector Experience: Water.

Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Monitoring
  • Manage day-to-day delivery of water projects such as water main replacement schemes, CSO installations, and civil design / build works.
  • Track progress against timelines and budgets, escalating risks and issues promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance standards and client specifications.
Planning & Reporting
  • Use Primavera P6 as the core planning tool for scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Maintain accurate project data and documentation in integrated systems of record.
  • Support reporting through Power BI dashboards, ensuring timely and transparent updates for stakeholders.
Compliance & Documentation
  • Implement and follow robust project controls and governance processes.
  • Ensure all project documentation is created, updated, and stored for organisational visibility.
  • Drive adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Coordination
  • Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to resolve issues and maintain alignment.
  • Provide clear communication and updates to the Head of PMO and senior leadership.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and process improvement.
  • Support innovation initiatives and adoption of new technologies within operational projects.
Qualifications
Criteria
  • Proven experience in project management within water infrastructure or related sectors.
  • Strong understanding of compliance and governance in operational delivery.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Full UK driving license.
Desirable
  • Experience working with reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL).
  • Experience with digital work management systems.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering and utility operations.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting.
