Your future role

The Project Manager - Test, Authorisation & Acceptance will play a key role in the successful delivery of 10 additional Class 345 trains as part of the high-profile Elizabeth Line Plus project from the historic Derby site.

You will primarily be responsible for leading the execution and delivery of project scope across train-level Type Testing, Authorisation, and the full acceptance cycle—including Fault-Free Running, Provisional Acceptance, and Final Acceptance of units. Additionally, you will ensure all activities are delivered in full compliance with contractual obligations, customer expectations, and Alstom’s project management and execution standards.

We’ll look to you for:
  • Drive performance to maximise cash flow and margin, and take full accountability for Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Planning (QCDP) across the defined scopes.
  • Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly project governance activities.
  • Serve as a key member of the Project Core Team, coordinating with internal stakeholders across multiple Alstom sites.
  • Ensure alignment of key project stakeholders with overall project goals and objectives.
  • Foster team engagement to achieve project milestones, strengthen collaboration, and mediate conflicts when necessary.
  • Proactively manage risks, opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Monitor project progress and KPIs, and report transparently to senior management during business-critical project meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable rules, standards, and policies, including Code of Ethics & Compliance, EHS, Railway Safety, Quality, and the Project Management Manual.

  • Good knowledge of railway products and systems.
  • Effective negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Extensive experience managing complex project scopes, including coordination with diverse internal and external stakeholders across multiple levels.
  • Experience working in multi-national environments and across diverse business cultures.
