Responsibilities
  • Team Support & Development: Provide coaching, guidance, and support to project team members. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Support to Central Change Function: Contribute to wider change initiatives and support the development of new change processes and frameworks across MaPS.
  • Business Case Development: Contribute to the development of robust Business Cases, working closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Project/Programme Management Professional: Holds a recognised qualification such as PRINCE2, MSP, or equivalent, with a strong foundation in project delivery methodologies.
  • Proven Experience in Project Delivery and Implementation: Demonstrated success in managing complex projects or programmes, including leading end-to-end implementation.
  • Strategic Planning & Resource Management: Skilled in securing resources, planning and scheduling, and managing teams to deliver large-scale change initiatives effectively.
  • Stakeholder & Change Leadership: Experience working across government departments and business groups, with the ability to align delivery with policy objectives, cascade vision, and drive change through teams.
  • Risk, Issue & Benefits Management: Strong track record in overseeing risk and issue management, and in monitoring long-term delivery of benefits against business cases.
  • Governance & Team Development: Ability to apply effective governance and management controls, while providing guidance and support to develop high-performing project teams.

Flexible Working

At MaPS, we take pride in our flexible approach to work. As standard, we work on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week. Hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and our headquarters in Bedford will be your contractual place of work, this role may also require occasional travel to London. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business needs, but personal and other relevant circumstances will also be considered. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.

Career Development

Reserve List

If you are successful at interview, we operate a reserve list where your details will be held for up to 6 months. Should a vacancy come available in that time with the same essential criteria, reserve list candidates will be offered that position with no further assessment required.

  • Telephone interviews will be conducted between 29 July and 14 August 2025.
  • CV sifting will take place on 15 August 2025.
  • In-person interviews will be held at our Bedford office on 27 and 28 August 2025.
