Job description
Project Manager (Level 3) – Permanent
Shape the Future of Energy in Greater Manchester

Join the Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s (GMCA) Low Carbon team as a Project Manager (Level 3) and take a leading role in one of the UK’s most ambitious regional responses to the climate emergency. This is more than just a project management role; it's an opportunity to directly influence the region’s transition to a carbon‑neutral economy by 2038.

As part of a dynamic and mission‑driven team, you’ll manage the delivery of complex energy and decarbonisation projects, with a key focus on the schools decarbonisation programme—a flagship initiative helping schools across Greater Manchester become more sustainable, resilient, and cost‑effective. You’ll also provide leadership within the team, shaping work plans, mentoring junior colleagues, and supporting the wider public sector to deliver innovative, scalable low‑carbon solutions.

We’re looking for someone with strong technical and commercial awareness of the energy and built environment sectors, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and a drive to deliver real‑world impact. If you’re ready to turn strategy into action and passion into progress we want to hear from you.
