Overview

Project Manager – Commercial Groundworks — Leeds, West Yorkshire. We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a high-profile commercial groundworks package in Leeds. They have expertise in complex groundworks and infrastructure schemes with a strong pipeline of secured work across the Yorkshire region. Due to the award of a major new project, they are looking to appoint an experienced and commercially focused Project Manager to own the scheme from mobilisation through to final delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the successful delivery of a large-scale commercial groundworks project from inception to completion
• Coordinate site activities, managing engineers, site supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Ensure all work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards
• Act as the primary point of contact for the client and attend regular progress meetings
• Monitor site progress, produce accurate reports, and resolve any operational issues
• Work closely with the commercial team to manage budgets, variations, and financial forecasting
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards at all times

About You

• Proven experience as a Project Manager in the groundworks or civil engineering sector
• Strong technical knowledge of groundworks including drainage, foundations, concrete works, and external finishes
• Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
• Relevant qualifications including SMSTS, CSCS (Black Card), and First Aid
• Able to manage and motivate teams while maintaining strong client relationships
• Full UK driving licence required
