• Proven experience in Project Management, ideally within the Defence or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of project lifecycles, procurement methods, and contract administration.
• Experience of NEC3 & NEC4 or JCT contracts.

Overview

Vertical Recruitment is working with a leading Construction Consultancy renowned for delivering Cost and Project Management services across multiple sectors. Their portfolio includes high-profile Defence sector projects, working with clients such as BAE Systems and the Ministry of Defence, as well as office fit-outs, refurbishments and education developments. The role is based in Barrow and offers the chance to lead high-value defence projects from inception through to completion.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects within the Defence sector, ensuring delivery on time, within scope and on budget
• Act as the key client interface, building strong stakeholder relationships and providing expert project guidance
• Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from feasibility and planning through to construction and handover
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and contractors
• Implement risk management strategies and ensure compliance with contractual and industry standards
• Provide accurate and timely progress reports and updates to senior management and clients

About You

• Proven experience in Project Management, ideally within the Defence or related sectors
• Strong understanding of project lifecycles, procurement methods, and contract administration
• Experience of NEC3 & NEC4 or JCT contracts
• Confident in leading teams, managing stakeholders, and delivering successful project outcomes
• Ideally chartered (MRICS, MCIOB, MAPM) or working towards professional accreditation
