Introduction to role

The UK Engineering team works as an integrated partner of the Worldwide Vanderlande Engineering team, consisting of over 1000 engineers from all automated handling disciplines. In the challenging and fast-paced position of Project Leader Engineering, you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the growth and continued success of Vanderlande.

Role Responsibilities

Role responsibilities and activities:

  • Managing the Planning of engineering projects by being a stakeholder manager and creating and owning the engineering project plan
  • Technical leading of internal and external teams to successful project execution
  • Controlling the budget of engineering projects proactively by identifying risk and opportunities and evaluating engineering scope and modifications, including an ongoing reporting
  • Managing the Technical Solution, including being responsible for the delivery of (sub-)systems with the right quality by acting as a technical business partner to customers and other external parties
  • Execution of health and safety analysis and ensuring implementation thereof in the design
  • Continuously improving upon own and others project management processes, including community development and best practices to support better individual and collective engineering project delivery
Role Qualification and Skills
  • A strong team player and effective communicator
  • A lateral thinker with a wide depth of field (able to see the big picture)
  • Relevant Degree in mechanical, electrical or controls engineering
  • Appropriate years of experience managing complex engineering projects of demanding customers in a dynamic and system-critical environment including the technical lead of multidiscipline teams
  • Qualified Project Management knowledge combined with proficient expertise within engineering projects, ideally within material handling systems (Electrical/Mechanical/LLC/HLC/Safety)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills combined with proficient usage of MS Office
