As the Project Engineer you will be strong in designing sheet metal fabricated parts & large structural components for large scale machinery (cutting, bending, moulding, forming & assembling processes), plus with strong knowledge of weldments & designing high capital machinery solutions within automated MHE conveyor systems / recycling systems (compactors, balers, tippers, feeders etc.).

If you are keen to lead & project manage the design, manufacturing & installation of high capital specialist machinery & if you possess strong detailing of fabricated products experience, along with 2D & 3D draughting using SolidWorks 3D design software. Then this could be the ideal project engineering role for you.

Project Engineer Duties:
  • Responsible for the engineering & technical disciplines needed to complete all recycling machinery designs, builds & installations.
  • To produce general arrangement drawings in 3D and/or 2D in SolidWorks / AutoCAD, creating a tailored manufacturing plant layout within the space available without compromising material flow within the clients recycling plants.
  • Playing a key part in the whole project from initial concept through design, release, manufacturing, testing & commissioning of the installed recycling plant machinery (conveyors, shredders, feeders, balers, compactors etc.).
  • Create & release BOM's (Bill of Materials) on the MRP system.
  • Produce a number of technical documents including manufacturing manuals & operating manuals.
  • Defining the machinery's required technical specifications, in order to meet the customers requirements as well as complying with legislation.
  • Carry out site surveys, checking measurements for the installation of specialist recycling machinery, ensuring requirements can be met.
  • Playing a key role in supporting the machinery installation, commissioning & testing processes, ensuring the works are finished to a high standard & OTIF.
  • Working on continuous improvement measures, analysing the costings of the recycling machinery build proposals & projects, looking at ways of refining build / install processes & ways of reducing costs without compromising on the quality of the machinery build.
  • Appraise all machinery build & installation sales proposals critically & constructively, to ensure customer orders can be met & to ensure that risk mitigation in terms of manufacturing costs etc. can be controlled in line with company expectations, ensuring the desired profits / margins are achieved, as well as a high quality install.
  • Liaising regularly with both suppliers & customers to ensure processes are refined.
Attributes:
  • A time-served experienced Project Engineer, Project Design Engineer, Design Engineer, Product Engineer, Development Engineer, Industrial Design Engineer, Project Manager, Project Lead, Program Manager, Industrial Designer or similar.
