Job summary

A global leader in innovative technologies is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to design excitation and protection systems. This permanent role is based in Montrose, Scotland, with options for other UK locations. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years in the field and be proficient in Solidworks. Qualifications

Electrical Project Engineer – Excitation & Protection Systems

We are now looking for a
Electrical Project Engineer – Excitation & Protection Systems.

The position is permanent, and the preferred location is in Montrose, Scotland, but other UK locations are possible.

What you will be doing

As Electrical Project Engineer you will play a key role in designing excitation and/or electrical protection systems and delivering these to our customers. You’ll work closely with the Engineering team, a team focused on supporting our customers with excellent technical solutions, and you will report to our Engineering Manager.

As Electrical Project Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
  • Lead the specification and design works on power generation projects
  • Oversee the build and FAT of systems
  • Liaise with customers to ensure projects are delivered as required in terms of Safety, Quality, Programme and Budget.
  • Support our Field Engineers as/when Technical Queries arise.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
  • Education: Minimum B.Eng in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience: 5+ years in Excitation and/or Protection Systems
  • Skills: Proficient in use of Solidworks Electrical Schematics (or similar CAD systems).
  • Certifications: HV Awareness, Electrical Testing, Electrical Safety
  • Other Requirements: Occasional Travel including working offshore and internationally
Preferred qualifications:
  • Education: B.Eng (Hons) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: Experience advantageous in various Power Generation environments.
  • Skills: Familiarity with PLC systems.
