Overview

Project Design Engineer (Mechanical) Huntingdon. Commutable from Cambridge, St Neots, Peterborough, Wellingborough, Bedford, Ely.

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000. Working pattern: Monday - Friday, flexible hours. Benefits: rising holiday up to 25 days a year. Plenty of training available.

Role & Responsibilities

• Design from scratch bespoke machinery for customers
• Ensure time frames from drawings, procurement, design, assembly, and delivery are all kept within
• Manage a team of 2 other Design Engineers, taking responsibility for individual and team projects
• Work with Autodesk to create 3D designs
• Projects include only mechanical designs - hydraulic and pneumatics
• Client travel is required to understand customer specifications
• Assist in machinery improvements on customer sites

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Must have Autodesk Inventor experience
• SolidWorks and/or CAD experience would be desirable
• Strong mechanical engineering understanding
• Shopfloor experience - Engineering background is great
• Ideally 5+ years' experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer working closely with customers
• Proven experience managing Design projects
