Job summary

A heavy engineering manufacturer in Sheffield seeks a Project Coordinator to oversee project delivery and customer interactions. The ideal candidate will be apprentice trained in an engineering discipline with experience managing customer requirements through manufacturing. This role involves liaising with inspectors, monitoring project progress, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. Qualifications

  • Apprentice trained in an engineering discipline with a strong bias towards mechanical.
  • Experience with management of customer requirements through the manufacturing process.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate the information contained in drawings and quality documentation.
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Point of contact for customer inspectors, liaising with various departments for inspections.
  • Ensure effective communication and execution of requirements with customers and internally.
  • Work with the team to resolve issues and report to senior PM as needed.
  • Responsible for overseeing materials planning and routing as required.
  • Liaise with and manage sub-contractors.
  • Monitor project delivery performance and report risks to the senior Project Management team.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed according to agreed standards.
  • Maximise customer experience and ensure satisfaction for repeat business.

Overview

My client is a heavy engineering manufacturer and specialises working within the Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Aerospace sectors. Due to expansion they are looking for a Project Coordinator to join their team.

Responsibilities
  • Point of contact for customer inspectors, liaising with the various departments to arrange timely inspections of prioritised components
  • Ensure requirements are effectively communicated and executed with both the customer and internally. (This will entail possibly working at the client site and other third-party sites).
  • Work with the team to resolve issues as they arise. If no solution can be identified, report to the relevant senior PM in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for overseeing materials planning and routing as required.
  • Liaise with and manage sub-contractors as required.
  • Monitor project delivery/progress performance and raise any risks to the senior Project Management team.
  • Work closely alongside the quality departments to ensure all documentation is completed in accordance with the agreed standards.
  • Maximise customer experience and ensure customer satisfaction in a manner likely to result in repeat business opportunities.
