Job summary

Programme Engineer - FRA Remedial Works

£26.51 per hour - PAYE

£33.78 per hour - Umbrella

Full time

3 Month Contract Initially

Our Local Authority Client is looking for a Programme Engineer to join their team to identify remedial works from the FRA report, organize works required and consult with delivery teams to progress the FRA action within Housing Delivery dwellings, buildings or land and technical consultancy to all other non-technical staff in Housing Delivery.

To drive forward compliance and reporting as well as advising on future legislation changes to fire safety regulations alarm installation and maintenance and in particular fire safety.

Own, develop, plan, monitor and be responsible and accountable for all aspects of the project, programme, or service from end-to-end and champion the experience of the customer to maximise customer satisfaction. Achieve the programme\'s objectives within the defined schedules, costs, and performance parameters.

Responsibilities
  • Identify remedial works from the FRA report, organise works required and consult with delivery teams to progress the FRA action within Housing Delivery.
  • Provide technical consultancy to all other non-technical staff in Housing Delivery.
  • Drive forward compliance and reporting and advise on future legislation changes to fire safety regulations, alarm installation and maintenance, and in particular fire safety.

  • Champion the customer experience to maximise customer satisfaction and achieve the programme\'s objectives within defined schedules, costs and performance parameters.
Essential
  • A recognised engineering qualification equivalent to NVQ level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Membership of a professional body - And/or - Contracting experience in a relevant discipline of sprinkler and fire alarm engineering.
  • HNC Construction Management/Building Surveying or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in managing installation and maintenance contracts and contractors with a track record of being able to prioritise tasks to meet quality, time and budgetary targets regarding M&E related programmes of works.
  • Ability to prepare scope of works, specifications, drawings, calculate and design FA projects including feasibility studies, considering all options and report and present outcomes where required.
  • Thorough understanding of Health and Safety issues and requirements related to the construction industry including CDM regulations.
  • Hold a full current valid UK driving license.
  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications or equivalents including the following: Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, and have a willingness to learn new applications and technology as appropriate.
Desirable
  • Project management qualification and ability to use and apply Prince 2 methodology or similar project management tools.
  • Experience of using CAD and ability to draft Fire Alarm drawings.
  • Knowledge of procurement and financial procedures.
  • Experience working in the Social Housing sector.
