Production Technicians Required In Ellesmere Port, Cheshire

Have you previously worked within the FMCG sector (Food Manufacturing, Packaging, Print, Plastics or Pharmaceutical), do you have a minimum of 3 years experience in one of these industries and are you looking for a new job to start ASAP?

We are proud to be working with a leading manufacturing business in Ellesmere Port to help them recruit up to 8 Production Technicians on a straight permanent basis, the starting salary is just over GBP 34,500 per annum.

This role will be working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (12‑hour days and nights shifts) and the working hours are 6am to 6pm / 6pm to 6am (2 days and 2 nights as part of your 4).

The onboarding process would involve you completing an online SHL assessment, as well as being invited to the factory for an on‑site interview and a full factory tour.

These roles would be a great fit for someone who has previously worked as a Manufacturing Technician, Technical Operator, Process Operator, Skilled Machine Operator, Machine Setter or Skilled Machinist within an FMCG manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do
  • Operate and maintain production lines to meet or exceed targets in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure high standards are upheld and complete relevant documentation accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with the Production Management Team to address any process issues.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including equipment checks and housekeeping.
  • Identify opportunities for cost‑savings and efficiency improvements while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in clean‑down and maintenance activities during downtime to keep the area in optimal condition.
What You Will Bring
  • A minimum of 3 years experience within an FMCG manufacturing environment (Food Manufacturing, Packaging, Print, Plastics or Pharmaceutical)
  • Experience in a production environment, with a focus on operating and setting large machinery.
  • Confidence and ability to make minor machine adjustments and troubleshoot issues.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently without supervision.
  • A proactive approach to identifying cost‑savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Excellent attendance and timekeeping, paired with a self‑motivated attitude.

As a Production Technician, you will be instrumental in ensuring smooth operations, maintaining quality, and contributing to the company’s overall success.
