Job description
Overview

Join Our Production Team as a Production Technician. Are you practical, detail-driven, and proud of doing things properly? Do you enjoy hands-on work, learning new technical skills, and being part of a team that delivers real-world impact? If so, we’d love to hear from you. At Laser Wire Solutions (LWS), you’ll join a friendly, highly skilled team working at the cutting edge of medical device manufacturing. As a Production Technician, you’ll play a key role in running our Medical Device Component supply production processes - producing precision components that go into life-changing medical devices and other high-value products. You’ll start within our Applications team for in-depth training before moving into production, giving you a strong technical foundation and exposure to how customer requirements translate into real manufacturing outcomes. This is a full-time, site-based role with full training provided, clear development opportunities, and the chance to work alongside experienced engineers in a supportive, no-nonsense environment. If you enjoy working with precision equipment, paying close attention to detail, and taking ownership of the quality of your work, this is an opportunity to build a long-term career in a growing, technology-led company.

What You\'ll Do

You’ll join our Applications team initially for in-depth training and orientation and then transfer to our Production team. We will provide full training, and your primary role will be to run our laser production processes and then potentially assist applications engineering or production in other areas, as delivery commitments allow. It’s a hands-on role where you’ll learn quickly, work with brilliant engineers, and see your work go into real medical devices and high‑value products.

  • Setting up and running jobs on laser equipment (with training) to meet our customer commitments.
  • Measuring parts, capturing photographs, recording results and writing clear notes.
  • Using a PC daily: Excel, email, team chat and basic software tools.
  • Keeping the area safe and tidy, stocked, and ready for the next job.
  • Working with Sales, Engineering and Production to solve problems and improve processes.
What We\'re Looking For
  • A practical person who likes making things work and takes pride in doing it properly.
  • Great attention to detail (you spot small changes others may miss).
  • Reliable, respectful and positive – you work well on your own and with a team.
  • Comfortable with measurements and basic math; an interest in physics/engineering is a bonus.
  • Requires dexterity and the ability to visually inspect small parts to high accuracy.
  • Clear handwriting with good record keeping.
  • Will need your own transport and/or able to commute daily (ideally suit a person within ~20 mile radius).
What You\'ll Get
  • Training, mentoring and a clear development pathway.
  • Varied work – new tasks and new customer challenges all the time.
  • Pension, life insurance and other standard benefits.
  • Flexible start/finish times within business needs and staggered holidays.
  • A friendly team where help is always on hand – and where we keep things straightforward.
Good To Know

This is a site-based production role (working from home cannot be accommodated). Occasional overtime may be needed, and very rare weekend work, for time-critical customer trials.
