Job description

Production Shift Manager
Lincolnshire
£45,000
4 on, 4 off (days and nights)

If you've ever looked at a production shift and thought, “This could run better - and I know how,” then you're probably the kind of person we're looking for.

Our client, a well-established name in manufacturing, needs a Production Shift Manager who's comfortable taking ownership, keeping things moving, and leading a team through the ups and downs of a fast‑paced environment.

You’ll report to the Factory Manager, but you’ll be trusted to make the day‑to‑day decisions that keep the shift on track. If you like responsibility and prefer being hands‑on rather than watching from the sidelines, this will suit you.

What you’ll be doing
  • Running the shift effectively, not just being present for it
  • Making sure products are safe, high‑quality, and produced efficiently
  • Developing and supporting your team
  • Managing yields and keeping unnecessary costs at bay
  • Handling issues professionally when they crop up
  • Working with engineers, quality, HR and whoever else you need to keep things flowing
What you’ll need
  • You’ve led teams before, whether as a Shift Manager or supervisor – ideally in food, drinks or FMCG manufacturing.
  • You know your way around HACCP and BRC, and you’ve been involved in continuous improvement. IOSH is very helpful, too, because safety isn’t optional.
What you’re like
  • You focus on solutions rather than problems.
  • You communicate clearly and confidently.
  • You work well with people – and people work well with you.
  • You stay calm when things get busy and keep your team pointed in the right direction.

Interested?

Send your application and we can talk things through.

P.S. There’s the usual Health & Safety responsibility and it matters. You’ll be expected to uphold standards and contribute positively to the team culture.
