Overview

Shift Pattern: Day Shift | Monday - Thursday: 6:00am - 15:00pm | Friday: 6:00am - 12:30pm

Are you an experienced Production Manager with a strong background in PVC and plastics manufacturing? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where safety, quality, and efficiency are vital?

Our client is a leading manufacturer seeking a dynamic and hands-on Production Manager to lead their team at their site in Stoke. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and shaping the future of production output.

Role

As Production Manager, you will be the driving force behind production cells. You will be responsible for the safety, performance, and development of your team, ensuring they meet and exceed key business objectives. Your core focus will be on delivering against critical KPIs including Safety (EHS), On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) delivery, labour efficiency, and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Leading, motivating, and developing a team of Team Leaders, Cell Leaders, and Operatives.
  • Micro-managing production schedules to ensure bottleneck areas are optimised and weekly targets are achieved.
  • Acting as the champion for Energy, Waste, and Health & Safety, promoting an uncompromising safety-first culture.
  • Utilising data from systems like Fourjaw and FDS/Scanning to drive efficiency, reduce downtime, and eradicate defects.
  • Implementing and promoting Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, 8 Wastes, TPM, SIC).
  • Conducting robust root cause analysis for customer complaints and implementing permanent fixes.
  • Full people management duties, including performance reviews, absence management, disciplinary procedures, and skills matrix development.

  • Substantial experience in a production management or senior supervisory role within a PVC or plastics manufacturing environment.
  • A demonstrable track record of delivering KPIs and driving continuous improvement.
  • Strong, hands-on leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and hold teams accountable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a data-driven and action-oriented mindset.
