Job summary

A leader in automotive components manufacturing, located in Brackley, is seeking a Production Engineer with strong CNC programming skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming and optimizing CNC machining operations using HyperMILL, as well as creating and updating 3D models in SolidWorks. Ideal applicants should have experience in precision machining and high-performance components, particularly in motorsport. Job description

We are looking for a Production Engineer with strong CNC programming skills to support the manufacture of high-performance braking components for motorsport applications. Ideal candidates should have experience with HyperMILL, SolidWorks, and precision machining of complex aluminum and cast iron components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program and optimise CNC machining operations (3–5 axis) using HyperMILL for calipers, brackets, housings, and other brake components.
  • Create and update 3D models and technical drawings in SolidWorks.
  • Improve machining processes for performance, accuracy, and reduced cycle times.
  • Work closely with machinists and quality engineers to resolve manufacturing issues and ensure tight-tolerance component quality.
  • Produce setup sheets, work instructions, and production documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance repeatability and throughput.
Qualifications
  • Experience in CNC programming and production engineering within precision or motorsport manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in HyperMILL and SolidWorks.
  • Strong understanding of machining metals (e.g., aluminum, cast iron) and GD&T.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred
  • Experience with high-precision, safety-critical components.
  • Knowledge of motorsport or automotive performance engineering.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing practices.
