Cybersecurity Product Assurance Engineer

Location: Belfast (3 days per week on-site)
Contract Type: Permanent

The Opportunity

Our client, a global leader in innovative technology solutions, is seeking a Cybersecurity Product Assurance Engineer to strengthen their product security function. This role offers the chance to work at the forefront of cybersecurity, ensuring that every product and solution released to the market meets the highest security standards.

You'll act as the cybersecurity gatekeeper, collaborating with development teams, senior architects, and stakeholders across multiple disciplines. If you're someone who thrives on tackling risks head-on, enjoys working across complex technical environments, and is passionate about safeguarding products against emerging threats, this could be the role for you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with hardware, firmware, and software engineering teams to plan and oversee code reviews and security scans.
  • Partner with senior cybersecurity architects to analyse results, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Work directly with development teams to remediate risks and strengthen security practices.
  • Serve as a trusted liaison between engineering teams and customers, ensuring products comply with the latest cybersecurity standards.
  • Champion best practice approaches across multiple projects and release cycles.
About You

We're looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities across several projects. You'll be comfortable engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike, translating complex risks into clear actions. Above all, you'll bring a strong interest in cybersecurity and a commitment to staying ahead of the curve in this ever-evolving field.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Ability to be on-site in Belfast three days per week.
  • Authorisation to work in Ireland.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and best practices (e.g., OWASP Top 10, NIST 800-53).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Development experience, ideally with authentication, authorization, SDKs, and APIs.
  • Basic networking knowledge and a sound understanding of common cybersecurity vulnerabilities (e.g., SQL injection vs. OS injection, authentication vs. authorization, TLS vs. SSL, stack vs. buffer overflow).

Desirable:

  • Exposure to software release pipelines (CI/CD, version control, GitOps, software signing).
  • Professional cybersecurity qualifications (e.g., Security+, CCSP, CISSP, CEH).
  • Knowledge of CVEs, CWEs, and common threat modelling techniques.
  • Experience with multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux).
  • Degree (or equivalent) in a STEM discipline such as cybersecurity, computer science, or engineering.
  • Understanding of cryptographic concepts (symmetric vs. asymmetric, HSM vs. TEE).
  • Previous experience working within Agile methodologies (SCRUM, sprint management, ticket handling).
What's On Offer
  • A chance to shape the security of market-leading products.
  • Collaboration with global teams of engineers and cybersecurity specialists.
  • A hybrid working model, combining flexibility with meaningful on-site collaboration.
  • Support for ongoing professional development, including opportunities to pursue industry-recognised certifications.
