Product Risk Governance & Controls Manager
Overview
The Cross-border Services Global Product Team is looking for a Product Risk Governance & Controls Manager to drive our product management governance forward by consistently innovating and problem-solving. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly motivated, analytical, and possesses a framework-driven mindset-
Role
- Product Risk Framework: Develop and maintain frameworks to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the cross-border product lifecycle.
- Controls & Governance: Embed risk controls aligned to enterprise policies; monitor effectiveness and drive timely remediation through governance forums.
- Risk event management: Lead end-to-end management of product risk events - detection, classification, remediation, and lessons learned - ensuring consistent documentation and executive visibility as per risk governance structure.
- Reporting: Provide leadership with visibility on risk posture, trends, and remediation; drive continuous product risk control improvement.
- Product regulatory framework: Developing the framework to gauge local regulatory scope of implications for cross-border transactions, i.e. permissions, licensing, use case requirements and other considerations.
- Regulatory change management model: Developing framework for regulatory changes as related to cross-border payments business; work with legal entity and across business to ensure Regulatory Changes are addressed by respective functions.
- Functional Interface: Act as single liaison between Product and functional (Risk, Regulatory, Compliance, Legal, and others).
All About You
- Ability to operate with high autonomy on open-ended problems in a fast-moving, highly matrixed environment, while managing multi-stakeholder engagements across multiple regions
- Experience in risk management, emerging risk trends, governance and regulatory compliance in payments; experience in cross-border payments flows is an advantage
- Understanding of current payment trends and developments from a risk or regulatory perspective
- Ability to challenge established views and assumptions at all levels and facilitate/lead discussions
- Experience working in or with banks, fintechs and/or financial regulators as it relates to payment landscapes
- Demonstrated expertise in identifying opportunities for continuous process improvement, enhancing efficiencies, and streamlining
- Track record of driving outcomes, managing complexity, and influencing senior stakeholders, with strong ownership of complex cross-enterprise projects
- Experience with risk-management software and tools; OpenPages is a plus
