JOB OVERVIEW

Product Manager / Insurance Platform Product Owner (Delivery & Configuration)

We have an exciting position for a hands-on, practical, detail-orientated Product Manager / Insurance Platform Product Owner who is focused on delivering, configuring and documenting insurance products across a digital platform, and who will work closely with brokers, MGAs and insurers to ensure accurate, audit-ready delivery.

SALARY: circa. £60,000 per annum + Benefits

LOCATION: Hybrid Working from Home with occasional meetings in the Maidstone, Kent office. Travel expenses will be covered

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm (Flexible working opportunities could be available for the right candidate, which can be discussed during the interview)

This role is highly delivery-focused, covering product documentation, platform configuration, data quality and stakeholder coordination, with exposure to automation, reporting and emerging technologies.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Product Manager / Insurance Platform Product Owner include:

  • Insurance Product Documentation: Producing and maintaining proposal forms, rating logic, underwriting rules, coverage mappings and policy documentation
  • Artifact Management: Ensuring all product documentation is version controlled, consistent and audit-ready
  • Platform Configuration: Configuring product structures, workflows, rules, question sets and rating formulas within the insurance platform
  • Data Setup and Schemas: Creating and maintaining data schemas, reference data and field mappings
  • Product Onboarding: Supporting onboarding of new insurance products, clients and delegated authority arrangements
  • Data Ingestion Oversight: Defining data requirements and validating bordereaux, imports and API data
  • Quality Assurance: Identifying and resolving configuration or data quality issues in collaboration with technical teams
  • Delivery Coordination: Planning delivery tasks, milestones and dependencies for product configuration initiatives
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Working with insurers, brokers and internal teams to gather and confirm requirements
  • Implementation Support: Acting as the day-to-day contact for product delivery updates and progress
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
  • Strong knowledge of insurance products, broker and MGA operations and delegated authority structures
  • Previous experience documenting insurance products including rating, underwriting rules and policy artefacts
  • Hands-on experience configuring insurance platforms or similar systems
  • Proven understanding of insurance data flows, ingestion processes and data quality management
  • Strong organisational, planning and delivery coordination skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
DESIRABLE
  • Working knowledge of Power BI or similar reporting tools
  • Experience working with APIs, JSON, Excel-based schemas or structured data formats
  • An interest in LLMs and Agentic AI within insurance or operational environments
