Red Badger – Senior Product Designer (Contract – Ivory Coast)
Must speak fluent French. Must be available to visit client site in Ivory Coast for 1 week (12th > 16th January fully expensed – alongside the Red Badger Team).
Client is a Development Bank. 10 week contract. Start date Monday 12th January. Discovery / Review website and intranet project – as is > To Be development piece with a roadmap to implementation deliverable. Joining a cross functional team of 5 (Engineer / Delivery / Product / UX / Product Design). Immediate interviews. Ltd company outside IR35 or Umbrella contract. £Competitive day rate. 2 days / week in person working (Old Street / Moorgate).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead product discovery and design sessions with client and users.
- Create and implement the design strategy, from discovery through to delivery. Focus on end‑user needs to deliver products with impact.
- Work on design and front‑end implementation within a cross‑disciplinary team, through creation of design systems, style guides, prototypes and other assets to bring product ideas to life.
- Design and facilitate workshops and design sprints. Experiment and make data‑driven decisions for your designs, using Agile/Lean methodologies.
- Drive continuous improvement and quality by championing design principles and the value they bring.
- Engage clients and your team to ensure the proposed design balances business goals and technical constraints in addition to user needs.
- Collaborative leader. Influence stakeholders and get early buy‑in for the design process and the outcomes. Coach your team and clients in Design Thinking, Lean, and Human‑Centred Design.
- Influence product roadmap activities and backlog prioritisation, to deliver high value outcomes.
- Communicate your designs and decisions with a broad range of client stakeholders. Align client stakeholders on the product and creative strategies, and desired outcomes.
- Advocate and introduce user‑centred processes to your clients' digital products. Become a trusted advisor to your clients by collaborating with them to deliver business and user value.
Experience & Qualifications
- Experience working in lean/agile methodologies, such as Scrum and Kanban.
- Working knowledge of industry‑standard tools, such as Figma, plus aptitude to learn and introduce new tools and methodologies.
- Led product design implementation as part of a cross functional team or programme working closely with engineers, data insights, user researcher and quality assurance disciplines.
- Experience leading design activities on a project, presenting design concepts to stakeholders and running workshops. Designed mobile‑first responsive & mobile native digital products.
- Deep understanding of Brand application UI design. Design systems such as Atomic design. Working knowledge of User research, User testing, including preparing stimulus and moderating sessions when required.
- Leverage front‑end development technical knowledge to inform design decisions.
- Apply product management principles to support the design and delivery of digital products.
- Influence Product Strategy and surface insights. Leverage emerging technologies to enhance the user experience.
