Overview

Kinetic PLC are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Procurement Officer (Maternity Cover) based in Nailsea. Are you an experienced Procurement Officer from an engineering or technical background? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, supplier-facing role where negotiation, organisation, and problem-solving are key?

Responsibilities

• Negotiating best cost and delivery with suppliers, placing and following up on POs for assigned commodities.
• Building and maintaining effective supplier relationships to ensure smooth PO execution.
• Managing problems and schedule changes to ensure on-time delivery.
• Updating ERP systems (Oracle) to ensure accurate planning.
• Balancing tactical execution with strategic initiatives to drive cost and lead time reductions.
• Supporting Commodity Buyers on technical and commercial developments to improve product knowledge.
• Participating in supplier performance reviews and contributing to projects.
• Managing end-to-end procurement activities while applying sourcing policy and interfacing between suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a buying, sourcing, or procurement role within engineering or a related industry.
• Self-starter, highly motivated, and process-oriented individual.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle challenges effectively.
• Technical knowledge or background in electrical fields would be an advantage.
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred).

Details

• Location: Nailsea
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm (flexible start times)
• Hybrid: 1 day remote working per week
• Salary: £28.84 per hour
