What you’ll be doing

As the Procurement Manager (Indirects) for Five Guys, you will need to have extensive multi-site procurement experience in the hospitality or retail sectors. Since we are a joint venture operating across the UK, France, Germany, and Spain, having procurement experience in some or all of these countries is also preferable.

In this role, you will lead the procurement of designated indirect categories by managing projects and programs, identifying opportunities and risks, and ensuring we have the right partners in place to drive value for the business. A deep understanding of procurement practices within indirects is essential, along with the ability to build strong relationships and maintain connections within the category.

The office is located in West London, and the role will require travel to various countries, so a degree of flexibility is required.

What you’ll be responsible for
  • Managing a range of key spend indirect categories across the business including commercial cleaning, energy procurement, laundry, security, waste, smallwares, IT, disposables etc.
  • Supporting across multiple markets – UK, France, Spain and Germany.
  • Project managing any changes where opportunities have been identified.
  • Partner with the key stakeholders to deliver project objectives whilst minimising operational impact.
  • Providing coaching and support on best practice with teams in the business.
  • Building meaningful and influential relationships both internally and with external partners to drive value and operational efficiency.
  • Providing insights and direction from business data, driving decisions and influencing stakeholders.
  • Understanding and identifying market trends and intelligence to deliver value and innovative solutions that will achieve business objectives.
  • Supporting the Procurement team across relevant categories
  • Maintaining and developing internal Procurement procedures
  • Controlling spend and building a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
What we’re looking for
  • Experience in a procurement role within hospitality or related industry
  • Good knowledge of strategic procurement and category management theories and concepts, financial risk and liability, including understanding the commercial risks associated with indirect supply chain.
  • Good network with external suppliers, bodies and individuals in the indirect categories
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to cut through information and draw out key trends / insight to support the development and improvement of the category.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to communicate to a range of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience of commercial and contract negotiation, including the drafting and execution of commercial contracts.
  • Experience of building relationships and influencing a range of internal and external stakeholders with the ability to manage competing priorities and business objectives.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Organised with the ability to work independently and adapt to rapidly changing circumstances.
  • Partner with legal team to ensure robust supply agreements are in place.
