Overview

A Top 5 Main Contractor is looking for a Procurement Manager to join their team based in the North East.

The main objective of the role is to support the delivery of one of the country's largest new major infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy a project procurement strategy that achieves business goals and project objectives.
• Manage a small project procurement team.
• Lead on project supply chain management and strategic procurement activities.
• Be part of the senior project leadership team, presenting reports and analytics to Directors and the client.
• Manage senior internal stakeholders and client requirements.

Further Details

Helping to deliver one of the largest new major infrastructure projects in the UK, valued at around £1bn. Supporting the first of many major projects in the region. With at least 5 years guaranteed procurement, it is likely that it will lead to much more than this. You will be working in a fast-paced project procurement team, who are building a greenfield supply chain. The project procurement team will be involved in procuring hundreds of millions of pounds of civils, M&E and site set up materials and subcontracts over the next 5 years.

Candidate Requirements

• 5+ years strategic procurement experience across any large complex construction, engineering or manufacturing company.
• You must have strong subcontract / strategic procurement experience, involving some team management.
• All candidates must have strong stakeholder management experience with a track record of facing off to challenging senior internal stakeholders; any external stakeholder management would be desirable.
• Due to demanding nature of this project and some of the challenging stakeholder requirements, candidates will be assessed on attitude, behaviours and drive as much as their technical ability.
