Reporting to the Head of Procurement & Commercial - Large Capital Delivery (LCD), the P&C Manager is responsible for ensuring a best in class procurement and commercial service to internal and external stakeholders by supporting all aspects of delivery through established internal controls and required by Business Governance and Commercial Manuals. Demonstrating value leadership, commercial management, and innovation to support the vision in becoming a world class provider of procurement and commercial services embedding a consistent approach to reduce the total cost of ownership achieving set targets set in this regard.

Responsibilities
  • Lead with care and integrity - champion Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) values across teams, embedding them into procurement and commercial processes.
  • Partner for success - support stakeholders with procurement, contracting, and supply chain expertise, ensuring collaborative and seamless project delivery.
  • Guide projects with confidence - manage procurement strategies, negotiations, and contract awards while ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Nurture strong commercial foundations - provide post-contract support, cost management, and dispute resolution to keep projects on track.
  • Empower and grow your team - lead and mentor a diverse group, fostering development and creating a supportive environment for success.
  • Drive improvement and relationships - champion value engineering, risk management, and build strategic partnerships with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications

A degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification and have or be working towards professional membership of a relevant professional body such as RICS or CICES.

High level of numeracy and ability to interpret and interrogate numerical data (Solid understanding of Excel).

High level of competence in drafting and interpreting commercial contracts.

Extensive experience in delivering procurement and commercial services in the NEC Contract environment.

Understand the financial aspects and implications of operational requirements and complex projects.

Fully understand the commercial impact of decisions and the implications on procurement process.

Detailed knowledge and experience of complex contract structures and documentation.

Thorough understanding, knowledge and experience of the processes relating to procurement strategies.

Experience of supplier development techniques and managing the development of supplier relationships.
