With Sunderland City Council's procurement apprenticeship, you will benefit from a structured learning programme, get hands‑on experience and earn a salary. Sunderland City Council is proud to be part of a new regional apprenticeship programme, designed to launch the careers of the next generation of procurement professionals. As a Procurement Apprentice, you will be employed directly by Sunderland City Council, gaining hands‑on experience in public sector procurement while working alongside experienced colleagues. At the same time, you'll be part of a wider regional cohort of apprentices supported by the North East Procurement Organisation (NEPO). The apprenticeship programme is delivered by specialist training provider SRSCC, combining face‑to‑face teaching at the Northern Design Centre in Gateshead with remote tutor support. You'll study towards Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) qualifications and build core procurement knowledge and skills. You will work as part of our team of procurement professionals, focussed on the development and delivery of procurement solutions for the council, whilst also developing key skills and knowledge through a combination of real‑world experience and dedicated training. The role is diverse and your responsibilities will increase as you progress through the development programme.
