Overview
Process Technician (Advanced) to join the wastewater team at the Western (Pimlico) Strategic Pumping Station in Chelsea. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running and operation of the Station as part of a shift team.
Responsibilities
- Run the station, operate the plant, perform routine checks, provide front-line maintenance, and solve problems to ensure services are maintained within the network of operations.
- Monitor the local network and pumping stations on SCADA.
- Take responsibility for all site activities, including those delivered by contractors. There may be a requirement to use specialist electrical, mechanical or ICA skills.
- Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance through operation of plant and equipment, cleaning, basic maintenance, fault-finding, monitoring, data collation, and reporting.
- Fault finding and first-fix rectification where possible.
- Undertake health and safety (H&S) and security checks.
- Complete planned and preventive maintenance of assets to ensure compliant plant operation.
- Monitor, collate, and report data to ensure statutory and regulatory complianceis met.
- Take personal responsibility for the health and safety of self and colleagues.
Base Location and Hours
Base Location: Western Pimlico, Westminster, SW1V 4BE.
Working pattern: 36 hours on a 12-hour rotating shift pattern.
What you should bring to the role
- Experience in a relevant industrial processing/engineering environment.
- Working toward or possessing NVQ Level 2 or an equivalent qualification.
- Ability to solve problems with excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills; able to implement timely and effective solutions to a wide range of operational problems.
- Basic literacy and numeracy; willingness to be trained in safety procedures, including Confined Space Entry.
- Computer skills and data input/enquiry experience are essential.
- Willingness to learn and develop within the team.
- Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team.
