Process Operator – Yorkshire Water

As our Process Operator you will work as part of an operational team to deliver exceptional performance against stretching targets whilst ensuring regulatory compliance and driving customer confidence and satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • React to RTS alarms and pollution incidents, gather evidence and take samples.
  • Lifting, checking and unblocking pumps, taking samples and troubleshooting any issues impacting sample results.
  • Raising follow‑on work for internal support services.
  • Perform basic grounds maintenance, site tasks, site maintenance and general housekeeping duties.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Full training on all mandatory courses will be provided.
  • Practical mindset, enjoy working outdoors in all weathers, comfortable taking a hands‑on approach to work tasks.
  • Resilient self‑starter, good time management, ability to efficiently manage own workload.
  • Prepared to question unsafe working practices and report to management.
  • Good problem‑solver, decision maker, communicator, and displays exemplary attitudes and behaviours.
  • Previous experience of using IT systems such as Word (to capture site information on a Toughbook).
  • Required to travel to various operational sites; a full valid UK driving licence (no more than 6 points). 
  • Occasional work in confined spaces – must pass medical criteria (BMI, vision, blood pressure, hearing, Spirometry).
