Product Development Engineer

Our client is a global engineering and technology organisation with a UK‑based R&D and engineering centre in Hampshire. They develop advanced heat exchanger solutions for high‑tech and green‑tech applications, working closely with customers in data centres, heat pumps and hydrogen technologies to deliver innovative, sustainable products to a global market.

The Opportunity

This hands‑on engineering role is part of a local and global product development team. You will design and develop new products, provide technical support for existing ranges and manage global product transfers. The role combines mechanical design expertise, project delivery and collaboration with internal teams and external customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work safely and lead with a safety‑first mindset across all tasks
  • Design and engineer Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs), pump skids and mechanical design rooms
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers to deliver optimised solutions for each application
  • Support and manage product transfers across global manufacturing sites
  • Design products for global production, generating cost‑effective ideas and implementing them across multiple sites
  • Complete engineering changes and support prototype development, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis as required
  • Manage personal workstreams and support team delegation when necessary
  • Represent the organisation in collaborative projects with customers and at customer sites
  • Deliver projects on time, following structured timelines and standards
Candidate Profile
  • At least 1 year of experience in product development, mechanical engineering or industrial systems design
  • Strong technical skills in Autodesk Inventor, Microsoft Excel, Word and Teams
  • Ability to work in virtual global teams and across diverse cultures
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed
