Overview

Job Description: Private Client Solicitor / Legal Executive

Salary: Up to £62K DOE

Job role: full-time or reduced hours – Hybrid

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join a respected firm with a strong reputation for delivering trusted and personal legal services. This is an excellent opportunity to manage a varied caseload of private client work, with a particular focus on wills, probate, estate administration, trusts, tax planning, and powers of attorney. The successful candidate will provide the highest standards of client care, develop long-lasting client relationships, and contribute to the continued success of the department, all while working within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a wide range of private client matters, including will drafting, inheritance tax planning, trust creation and administration, powers of attorney, Court of Protection applications, and probate and estate administration, in line with firm procedures and quality standards.
  • Progressing client matters efficiently and accurately, ensuring clients are kept fully informed on progress and costs.
  • Meeting agreed targets relating to billing, time recording, aged debt management, and other performance indicators.
  • Ensuring full compliance with the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and the Solicitors’ Code of Conduct.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and security of all documentation and client information, using the firm’s case management system effectively.
  • Taking responsibility for credit control on allocated matters, with support from the Credit Control/Accounts team.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and external organisations, supporting business development activities and generating referrals.
  • Supervising and supporting legal assistants through regular interaction, feedback, and review meetings to support performance, development, and wellbeing.
  • Participating actively in departmental meetings, contributing constructively and raising key matters of concern.
  • Taking ownership of personal performance and professional development, including preparation for performance reviews and completing training to remain up to date with legal developments.
  • Supporting the firm’s positive working ethos by adhering to Colleague Charters and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
